My Payment Philosophy:
I am a collaborative therapist in many ways. One of these is my unique financialapproach. By not directly billing insurance, I am able to use therapist discretion when
diagnosing clients, and focus on relational and systemic problems as needed. Many insurance companies do not cover relational/family/marital work, only what they determine are medically necessary diagnosable mental disorders. We decide what to focus on in therapy and how often to attend, not the insurance company. Being a fee-for-service practice also frees me from hours of paper and telephone work to try to obtain, maintain and trouble-shoot benefit claims. Our work will not require a third-party authorization. I believe that this method makes for more confidential therapy services, a simpler financial process, and more focused therapy.
